Given the aviation industry’s reputation as one of the most strictly and extensively regulated sectors, the demand for aviation legal and regulatory services is unsurprisingly high. While Avlaw is not a law firm, it provides practical technical advice on all regulatory aspects and collaborates closely with law firms to support them in offering legal advice and solutions.

Avlaw’s Founder, Prof. Ron Bartsch AM, has been a barrister in the High Court of Australia since 1993 and is recognized as a leading global authority in aviation law. He has authored 13 publications, including the best-selling Aviation Law in Australia (6th ed.) and International Aviation Law: A Practical Guide (3rd ed. 2024), and contributed to the aviation sections of Thomson-Reuters’ The Laws of Australia and Halsbury’s Laws of Australia. Many of Avlaw’s senior consultants are former safety regulators, possessing an in-depth understanding of civil aviation law and regulations.
