What are the Australian Aviation Awards?

The Australian Aviation Awards are an Australia-wide recognition program showcasing the exceptional individuals and businesses positively shaping the growth and development of the country’s aviation sector.

The black-tie event is a prestigious one, offering professionals and their organisations the opportunity to highlight their achievements, build their exposure, further their careers and fuel the growth of their companies.

The finalist list, announced on Tuesday 11 July 2023, boasts over 145 high-achieving professionals. You can view the full list of finalists here.

We are absolutely ecstatic that our very own Amalina has made the shortlist for “Female Rising Star”.

About Amalina Jumary

amalina jumary

Amalina grew up in Singapore, moving to Australia after graduating with a Bachelor’s of Social Science (Honours) from the National University of Singapore, majoring in Sociology.

She started with us as a Project Administrator while studying at the University of New South Wales where she graduated with a Bachelor of Aviation (Management) with Distinction. She is also a recipient of the 2019 Rudolf Kapustin Scholarship by the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, and presented at The Hague in the Netherlands.

In a few short years, Amalina made an incredible impression in our business and quickly rose up the ranks.

Since 2020, Amalina has been Avlaw’s Quality Assurance Manager, primarily focussing on the Flight Safety Foundation Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) audits that Avlaw undertakes. Beyond BARS audits, Amalina establishes protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that the Auditing team execute when liaising with clients and internal auditors for the planning of onsite and virtual audits – both in Australia and overseas.

In her role, Amalina routinely manages and analyses raw, complex audit data to produce rich and meaningful information, helping both our organisation and our clients make decisions driven by data and facts. The strategies we have developed based on Amalina’s work allows us to be proactive in avoiding potential crises and placing us (and our clients) in a strategic position to respond promptly to changes in our dynamic operating environment.

Amalina on working for an aviation consultancy

In my estimation, a stint with an aviation consultancy is a fantastic opportunity for a student in aviation school.

It introduced me to various facets of aviation as an industry beyond my university curriculum, and the rich pool of resource, knowledge and expertise found among the consultants.

We’re incredibly proud of Amalina and all the work she does, and look forward to the black-tie event when the winner is announced!
