The Flight Safety Foundation (FSF), in conjunction with the resource sector, established the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Program to improve safety in contracted aircraft operations within remote and hazardous environments.

BARS aims to raise aviation safety standards and to assist organisations with the management of their aviation risk.
